I am curious to hear your view Freddie. I have seen the DQ commerical and it left me feeling uncomfortable. I think it makes the little girl look bad. I don't mind the concept of the boy buying her ice cream to win her affections but her cold response wasn't funny. I don't want to sound over sensitive but my idea of humour isn't about little girls manipulating boys at such a young age.

WTF?? If anything it makes men look like idiots. Exploitive? how is that exploitive?

If it makes them feel any better, I'd like to buy the Mom an ice cream.

How pathetic.
I can't believe people are actually over analyzing this spot and trying to make hay with it ?
It's a sweet little commercial.
I've seen it at least half a dozen times and really thought nothing of it until reading here that some people are up in arms about it.
Man, some people are just stupid.

This is an ongoing thing in the media where men are so stupid they wouldn't know how to leave the house in the morning. It's the offspring of what I like to call Stupid Husbands In Television or "S.H.I.T.".
And these commercials are everywhere, T.V. radio and print, and it's really starting to grind my gears.

If anything,"partypooper" who wrote a comment here is absolutely right! It's where men are constantly being male-bashed in commercials on a regular basis, and this is supposed to be funny according to the marketers (probably women) who are creating these commercials, but do you see us men complaining??? and if anything, this Dairy Queen commercial is once again bashing the male regardless of age to show how males are sucked in to buying something for females if they look at them as if they are interested in a particular guy, but really are not, just to get a drink at a bar, or dinner at a restaurant, clothes, jewelery etc...and i think this is bloody pathetic, but once again you don't see mens groups (if there are any)crying foul on this or any other "man vs. woman" topic. I think these so called "womens groups" realize that women do this to men in some form or another but don't want men to be of the wiser for fear that men will no longer treat women with drinks, jewelery, food, clothes, cars, trips or anything else for that matter ....i think women are scared to work for it themselves.....

I'm with you Burt. What a storm in a teacup.
Mike D - you seem mighty "sensitive" - almost like those feminists you seem to hate.
I don't see any man being bashed here. I see a young boy doing what he no doubt learned from his old man, and a young girl repeating what she's heard from her mother.
Lighten up. Sheesh!

When I first saw the ad, all I noticed was that it made me chuckle and that for some reason I had a hankering for some ice-cream. Thank god the media stepped in to alert me that I'm supposed to be up in arms and profoundly offended by this horrid bit of sexist garbage. Not sure what I'd do without them...other than see things for what they are that is.

I agree Pam, come on people lighten up. Don't be so sensitive.

Steve – I agree I now have a serious craving for one of those waffle ice cream things. Mom isn’t too shabby either.

men look stupid in 1/2 the commercials...don't bother me...
Skelly is hot...
