WHAT about Rush any of there
abums from the 70's would qualify
October 18, 2007 / 11:24
the first rush album the first teenage head album, the first national velvet album anybody remember national velvet? the first diodes album, the forgotten rebels in love with the system.

I'm no fan of Rush really, but I think they deserve a respectable sopt in the top ten. So does Leonard Cohen.. and aren't The Who Canadian?
October 18, 2007 / 12:36
Thanks GOD there is no RUSH on the Top 5. They are one of only two rock bands that make me turn off the radio whenever their music is played. The other is Nickelback!

Your all crazy....
Freddie Im disappointed.
No Hip in your list?
I would put The Hips Day For Night as number 2. I agree with Neil Young being Number one.
Rush should be number 3 but I would pick Permanent Waves or Hold Your Fire as their representative on that list.
Number four...How Bout 54-40?
for number 5 I would go with Spirit of the West or Sloans Twice Removed.

1. Gowan-Strange Animal
2. Gino Vanelli - Black Cars
3. Candy & The Backbeat - Go!
4. Corey Hart - Sunglasses At Night
5. Honeymoon Suite - Wave Babies

Take out put Helix in Corey Hart's place and you have a killer Canadian list! The kind of list Jack would be all over.

just an addendum to my post.. i was in highschool and went and saw Gowan at the ontario place forum. it was sad. he actually played strange animal twice. to top off the night, as the lights came up after the show, the fuzz streamed out of the bushes and arrested me and my girlfriend for drinking in public, underage.
October 18, 2007 / 15:38
Neil Young be damned. Shame on you guys for leaving out The Spoons' "Old Emotions" and Platinum Blonde's "Standing in the Dark".
October 18, 2007 / 15:45
what about "im an adult now" by t.p.o.h. or skinny puppies dig it
October 18, 2007 / 15:56
wow i forgot these ones, sons of freedom first album, lowest of the low, shakespeare my butt, cowboy junkies the trinity sessions, rheostatics whale music, blue rodeo diamond mine, remember the good old days when cfny played these artists, my how times have changed, for the worse.
October 18, 2007 / 17:13
Hey, I never said I liked Rush... made that clear... as for Nickelback they are what I call an "edge band" not to be confused with a "cfny band" liek the rheostatics.
October 19, 2007 / 14:48
Hey Trish - are you serious??
October 19, 2007 / 17:38
i admit i was a spoons fan, mostly because i wanted to have sex with sandy horne. i loved her 80's crimped hair. i thought nova heart was a great song as well.
also, Blue Peter's "don't walk past" is a classic cfny tune. remember the video with the dude doin his dance? good times.

One important thing I like about blog articles is the fact that they trigger a thought in my mind. After that happens, I feel like I have to write a comment expecting it may be beneficial to other people.
